Rising Stars of Cantonese Opera - Hong Kong Heritage Museum
In 2009, Cantonese Opera was officially inscribed onto the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It then became the first world-listed intangible cultural treasure in Hong Kong. To promote this heritage, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum will specially launch a programme, called "Rising Stars of Cantonese Opera", which provides a platform for different audience groups, including the general public, elderly, women, parents and kids, to display their artistry. Everyone can learn how to sing "male vocal" and "female vocal". Both the singers and audience can enjoy the performance, which harks back to the old days of the "Cantonese Opera Singing Stage". The audience will also have the opportunity to witness the rise of the new Cantonese Opera singing stars!
