Museum of Ethnology

The Museum of Ethnology is a museum based on cultural heritage around the world.  On show are hundreds of artifacts from different cultures around the world which demonstrate how people under different geographical condition have used their creativity and inventions, together with what the nature has to offer, to improve their daily lives. The kind of wisdom and opportunity embraced, and the spirit of adaptability and continuous improvement are all seem to be taken for granted by modern dwellers nowadays.

Sometimes the nature is harsh to human mankind – the freezing glaciers and iceland, or the dry and tough heat, are all harsh conditions that the human kind has to adapt. However, at the same time, the nature has a lot to offer, giving us abundant resources to serve our daily needs.
About 2 million years ago, humans already started to use different materials to create daily items and with observation, we started to make even better use of natural materials. With years of experience and development, and inventions like gravity, wind power, water power, centrifugal force, and lever operation, technology has then became a critical part of our daily lives. Precious exhibits include reindeer bone products of Eskimos, twenty eight feet canoe from the Indian Ocean, and the ritual costumes of Papua New Guinea.
