The International Council of Museums (ICOM) designates the 18th of May of each year as International Museum Day (IMD) in 1977. In Hong Kong, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department holds the International Museum Day Hong Kong every year in Mayto promote the museum industry, and our local art and culture. There are different themes in every year, and for 2014, it would be “Museum collections make connections”, aims at “renovating traditional methods of engagement adopted by museums in order to remain relevant to their stakeholders.”

There are many events during those days, Touch Arts has established a Page dedicated to the International Museum Day, providing basic information and brief introduction of its events and activities. You could also use our Map of International Museum Day to find out the closest event and help you arrange your trip to enjoy and experience art and culture in Hong Kong.
